Dear Annie, I Hate You

IT'S 2016. YOU JUST GOT DIAGNOSED WITH A BRAIN ANEURYSM. BUT THE ONLY THING SCARIER TO YOU THAN DYING IS MISSING OUT ON SPRING BREAK.
Dear Annie, I Hate You is the wickedly funny, multimedia exploration of writer-creator Sam Ipema's real life at 20 when she was hit in the head and diagnosed with a life-threatening brain aneurysm. Hailed as “Masterly” by The Stage, this award-winning piece is sharp, poignant, and "an utterly unpredictable gut-punch that has audiences' laughing, crying, and questioning what they want to do with their little time on this precious blue Earth." (Theatre and Tonic, 5 stars)
"Dear Annie, I Hate You was the funniest, most moving, and most skillfully executed performance that I've seen in years at Edinburgh Fringe."
- Peter Ranscombe, The Lancet

OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Dear Annie, I Hate You aims to raise awareness and provide support for those living with chronic or life-altering conditions and has partnered with HBA Support and Headway, two fantastic charities that support individuals affected by, and living with, brain aneurysms and other brain injuries.
Following its 2024 premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the production received an Arts Council England grant, which enabled a four-week transfer and London debut at Riverside Studios. This supported a successful run of the show and created a strong, flourishing partnerships with both charities.
